The pro-life movement was proven right when it discovered three states: New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Maryland quietly planned to cover abortion under their health care plans for at-risk patients. This is interim coverage for uninsured people due to pre-existing conditions until general coverage begins. It’s part of the health care bill signed by President Obama. The states would have gotten away with using your tax dollars to fund abortion-on-demand if it hadn’t been for alert pro-life forces bringing it to public attention. Reluctantly, the Obama administration announced these at risk pools in any state would not cover abortion unless for rape, incest or life of the mother. Pro-abortion activists are livid. We’re cautiously optimistic, but realize we must remain ever vigilant.
