It’s not every day this happens, but there’s good news from a government agency. The Centers of Disease control says more teens are not having sex outside marriage. The research looked at a very comprehensive group of birth records from all fifty states. It showed fewer boys and girls—less than half—were having sex. The biggest reduction has been in Black teenage girls. Gladys Martiez, the main author of the report, said the most common reason for abstinence is both girls and boys is it’s against their religious or moral values. She said it’s always been the primary reason in previous studies. Parents, you’ve heard me say this before. Your message of abstinence until marriage is not only getting to your kids, it’s sticking with them. It’s working so please keep it up.
