Birth Certificates for Stillborn Babies in PA

One of the biggest tragedies in life for parents is to give birth to a stillborn child. In Pennsylvania, that heartache was magnified for Heidi Kaufman when the state refused to issue a birth certificate for her stillborn child. When she spearheaded legislation to correct the situation, she and others were shocked and mystified why there was organized opposition. It took five years to get the legislation passed because pro-abortion activists were afraid acknowledging a stillborn child as a person would somehow pull the rug out from abortion-on-demand throughout pregnancy. Thanks to Heidi’s passion and leadership, parents will now get a birth certificate. And Heidi says she’ll be the first in line to get one. Parents who lose a child shouldn’t have salt rubbed in their devastating wounds.
